BMW M2 CS

BMW’s M2 has taken up the mantle of the company’s small, nimble coupe from the M4. The M2 is a properly good sportscar (as you can read here). Now we have an even hotter CS version. This variant is lighter and sportier than its namesake sibling. The CS weighs 30 kg less and develops more power, at 390 kW. BMW says that the M2 CS can sprint from rest to 100 km/h in 3,8 seconds and will go on to a top speed of 302 km/h. Expect to pay R2 270 000 for the M2 CS when it gets to SA.

Lamborghini Temerario

Lamborghini finally replaced the ageing Huracan last year. The ‘entry level’ sportscar does away with the naturally aspirated V10 that was fitted in the Gallardo and Huracan (as well as the Audi R8). In its place is an all-new 4,0-litre unit that has twin-turbochargers and can rev to a dizzying 10 000 r/min.

Additionally, three electric motors supplement the petrol-fed engine. Total system power is rated as 677 kW. Lamborghini says the Temerario can blast from 0-100 km/h in 2,7 seconds and that the top speed is quoted as 343 km/h. Expect these to pop up outside your local swanky bar later this year. If you have R7 525 000, this Italian screamer can be yours. Hear more about the car from the company’s CEO in this video:

Mercedes-Maybach SL680

Mercedes’ Maybach division has been growing in recent years with several models now available. The latest and sportiest Maybach will appear in SA this year. The Mercedes-Maybach SL680 is based on the AMG SL63. As a result it has the same twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8. The unit still develops 430 kW and 800 N.m, which is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Differentiation comes in the form of comfier tuning of the throttle pedal, more noise insulation, quieter exhaust and a softer suspension. There are several design cues to earmark the luxury roadster in addition to there being more luxurious interior treatment.

Porsche 911 Turbo S

The all-weather, everyday supercar had a bit of a refresh last year. The revised Porsche 911 Turbo S has a raft of changes, including a revised powertrain with twin electrified turbochargers. As a result power rises to 523 kW. This makes the new 911 Turbo S the most powerful production 911 to date. Peak torque is 800 N.m.

The ‘new’ Turbo S Coupé can blast from 0-100 km/h in 2,5 seconds, 0,2 seconds quicker than its predecessor. 0-200 km/h takes 8,4 seconds an improvement of 0,5 seconds. Top speed is 8 km/h slower at 322 km/h. Check out all the changes in the video below. A ‘new’ 911 Turbo S will set you back from R5 658 000.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ

The iconic off-roader from Toyota has a new lease on life. The latest version was introduced in Japan towards the end of 2025 and will make its SA debut around the middle of this year. FJ is a third addition to the Land Cruiser family after the 300, Prado and 70 Series. This model aims to appeal to a slightly younger buyer. It retains its boxy dimensions but Toyota has taken the decision to offer it with two faces. Expect power to come from a 2,7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that drives all four wheels.
