Double Apex Community Rules

Double Apex is built for people who actually care about cars. Strong opinions are welcome. Abuse, spam, porn bait, scams and legal nonsense are not. These rules apply to comments, replies, usernames, avatars, profiles, links, reports and any other user-generated content posted on the site.

By posting on Double Apex, you agree to follow these rules. If you do not, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts or ban users.

1. Add Value

The comments section exists to add something useful to the conversation. Insight, experience, correction, humour and informed disagreement are all welcome. Spam, derailment, attention-seeking rubbish and link dumping are not.

2. Keep It Civil

Debate the car, the article, the engineering, the market or the opinion. Do not attack other users personally. Abuse, threats, harassment, bullying, intimidation, hate speech and deliberately inflammatory behaviour are not allowed.

3. No Defamation Or Reckless Allegations

Do not post unverified claims that a person or company committed a crime, fraud, corruption, abuse or similar wrongdoing. Do not use Double Apex to settle scores, spread rumours or make accusations you cannot support responsibly.

4. No Porn Or Sexual Content

Do not post pornography, sexually explicit content, sexual solicitation, adult links or anything similar in comments, usernames, avatars or profile fields. This is a car site, not a sewer.

5. No Spam, Scams Or Phishing

Do not post fake giveaways, phishing links, malware, dodgy downloads, crypto scams, betting spam, affiliate junk, SEO spam, impersonation attempts or any attempt to push users into unsafe off-site channels. Suspicious links and patterns may be held, blocked or removed automatically.

6. Respect Privacy

Do not post anyone’s personal information without permission, including phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, ID numbers, private screenshots or financial details. No doxxing, no revenge posting and no privacy breaches.

7. Stay On Topic

Keep comments relevant to the article, the vehicle, the discussion or the wider automotive point being made. A bit of drift is normal. Full derailment is not.

8. No Illegal Or Harmful Content

You may not post anything unlawful, threatening, fraudulent, violent or otherwise harmful. If content crosses that line, it will be removed and the account involved may be restricted or banned.

9. No Impersonation

Do not pretend to be another person, a company representative, a journalist, a moderator or any official source you are not. Pseudonyms are fine. Deception is not.

10. Use Links Sparingly

Links are only acceptable where they genuinely improve the discussion. Source material, technical references and relevant supporting content can be useful. Promotional links, traffic bait and self-serving drops are not.

11. Reports And Moderation

Users may report comments they believe are abusive, unlawful, defamatory, spammy or otherwise in breach of these rules. Reports are not automatic takedowns. We review reported content and act where appropriate.

Double Apex may moderate, hide, hold, remove or restrict content where we reasonably believe there is a breach of these rules, a legal risk, a security issue or a threat to the quality of the community.

12. Repeat Offenders Lose Access

A first breach may lead to moderation, removal or a warning. Repeated abuse, spam, scams, impersonation, porn promotion or bad-faith behaviour may lead to suspension or permanent bans.

13. Accounts And Age

If Double Apex comments are tied to site accounts, those accounts are intended for users aged 18 and over. False age claims or misuse of accounts may result in removal or suspension.

14. No Unauthorised Promotion

Do not use Double Apex comments to advertise your business, channel, group, service or product unless Double Apex has clearly allowed it. Enthusiast discussion is fine. Opportunistic selling is not.

15. Rights Still Matter

Only post content you are entitled to post. Do not infringe copyright, privacy or any other rights. If there is a valid complaint, the content may be removed while the issue is assessed.

16. What Good Looks Like

The best comments usually do one of four things: add knowledge, add context, ask a sharp question or disagree properly. Specific, relevant and informed beats loud every time.

17. Final Rule

Do not be a chop.
