Here is your Monday motorsport round-up of the top categories of world motor racing.

World Endurance Championship:

The 86th running of the world’s most famous motor race took place in Le Mans France this past weekend. After 20 tries, Toyota finally took overall honours in the grueling event. Former F1 champ Fernando Alonso was part of the driver line-up in the winning team, which included Kazuki Nakajima and Sébastien Buemi.

Winner of the LMP2 class was the No 26 G-Drive Racing team. Porsche dominated the GTE Pro class and the No 92 Porsche GT “Piggy” Team took the class win. The No. 77 Dempsey-Proton Racing team (Porsche 911 RSR) took the GTE Am class.

MotoGP

Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo took victory in the Catalan GP. He shared the podium with points leader Marc Marquez (Honda) and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha).
