Automotive museums are fascinating places. They allow enthusiasts of all ages the opportunity to see several decades of motoring in one place, often under one roof. Just such a place is the Technik Museum Sinsheim. A friend and reader of our website recently visited this incredible facility and shared some of his experience with us by sending us images from his visit. Incidentally, Technik Museum Sinsheim is the largest privately owned museum in Europe.

The Technik Museum Sinsheim is in Germany, about an hour south of Frankfurt. The entire showcase over 50 000 m² both in- and outside. There are over 3 000 exhibits to showcase various aspects of technology. ‘Sinsheim’ houses a great number of cars, but also other facets of transportation, including motorbikes and aircraft. In fact, there are two versions of supersonic aircraft on show: the French Concorde and the Russian Tupolev Tu-144. This is the only place in the world where both aircraft can be seen together.

Petrolheads Delight

The cars are the stars, if you are a fan of this website. Petrolheads with all manner of interests are catered for in the halls. You can view all manner of Americana, Teutonic machines and Italian exotica, among many others. There are classics and vintage machines sourced from all over the world, many brands that no longer exist. In addition, there are dozens upon dozens of racecars from all eras.

There are more Formula One cars than the current F1 paddock, Indy Cars, rally and endurance race machines. Fans of locomotives and war machines are not left out.
